Injectables

Botox®, Dysport®, Xeomin®, Jeuveau®, Belotera®, Versa®, Voluma®, Restylane® and more

What it is “Botox” vs. “fillers”?

“Botox” is actually a brand name is the brand name of a specific botulinum neurotoxin. There are four FDA-approved neurotoxins available in the U.S.: Botox®, Dysport®, Xeomin®, and Jeauveau®. The rule of thumb is botulinum toxin is best used in areas of facial expression such as the frown lines, crow’s feet, and ‘11s’ between the eyebrows.

Fillers, are usually made up of hyaluronic acid, like Restylane®, Juvederm®, and Belotero® — best for deep lines that are present even when facial muscles are not contracting (lines of rest.)

How it works: FDA-approved, injectables are inserted into the skin with a needle to support muscles or plump up the skin, lessening the appearance of wrinkles. There are lots of deals floating around online, but it’s important to make sure you are working with a trusted professional who is not going to cut corners to deliver genuine products with an expert hand. It’s all going in your body, after all.

We will work with you to find out exactly what you’re looking to achieve with your own beauty, and will recommend the right combination of fillers and ‘botox’ to help you find a beauty that’s your own.

FAQs

What should I know before I get injectables?

1. Find a provider whose aesthetic and philosophy you align with – we believe in finding a beauty that’s all your own, and we want to work with your natural features to enhance, not mask your real self.

2. Be an educated consumer- we believe patient education is second to none, so we will help you find the right injectable for you.

3. Be realistic about your expectations- we are going to be honest with you, and you have to come in believing that we are going to guide you towards what works for you. Know that some injectables take a week or two to show results, and others need an upkeep schedule of several visits a year. We will always let you know what your best options are to achieve the results you want!

4. Make sure you are getting the best product, but expert injectors- There are a lot deals out there for injectables, and the popularity of these treatments make it seem like ‘they are no big deal.’ But the truth is, they are. You are having highly effective, transformative materials injected into your body. Make sure you work with a team that you trust and that can provide you with the right pre-and post-care.

How long before I see results?

Some people see results immediately, but the majority of your patients will see results in about a week for injectables like Botox.

Fillers have a more immediate effect, and can even look swollen for up to 3 days. Make sure you follow the post-treatment plan to the letter.

How long will my treatments last?

For Botox, treatments can last anywhere from 3 months to a year depending on how your face expresses lines. For fillers, your body naturally reabsorbs hylauronic acid, and you can expect results to last on average 4-6 months before you might feel you need a ‘touch up.’

For ‘liquid facelifts’, patients have reported being satisfied with their results for up to 2 years.
