Is there any downtime?
There’s absolutely no downtime, however you must avoid prolonged and direct sun exposure for 3 weeks after your treatment. You can resume other normal activities immediately.
What should I do after my appointment?
You MUST avoid sun exposure and sun beds or tanning treatments for at least 3 weeks after the treatment because the area treated will be more prone to burning and increased pigmentation during this period. Apply a strong sunblock (30+ or 50+) frequently and daily for 1-2 weeks after treatment.
Does Laser Genesis cause acne?
Laser Genesis does not cause acne, and in fact reduces active acne breakouts, acne scarring and post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation caused by acne. Results from Laser Genesis treatments are cumulative, so more and more visible improvement happens with each session.
Is Laser Genesis the same thing as IPL?
The short answer? NO! Laser Genesis is a very unique treatment only available on the Cutera XEO platform. It uses a tried and true Nd:YAG 1064nm laser, but fires at an extremely fast pulse rate. Laser Genesis is truly a no-downtime and painless procedure that improves skin texture, redness and leaves you with glowing skin.
