What it is

What’s the fastest way to get the skin you want– skin that’s healthy, plump and glowing with an even tone? The answer is a medical grade laser treatment. From laser resurfacing to laser facials, and laser peels, laser-based skin care can act as the ultimate in-office treatments to transform your skin.

Laser treatments ranging from MicroLaserPeel®, NanoLaserPeel®, HALO® Laser Resurfacing to Laser Genesis act quickly and powerfully to transform your skin. Light treatments including BBL photo facials, and infrared light treatments like SkinTyte® use effective light-based technology to improve your skin from within.

Laser Treatments

MicroLaserPeel®

Intensity Level: Medium to High

Laser peels are the perfect tool for removing mild to deep wrinkles that are the result of repeated UV and sun exposure, treating hyperpigmentation and smoothing out deep scars and stretch marks.

By removing a super thin top layer of skin, the MicroLaserPeel® will eliminate some of the damaged cells that can give skin a tired look.  The result is healthier-looking skin, often with reduced wrinkles and improved evenness and tone. Patients often say their skin transforms from ‘tired’ to ‘vibrant.’

Concerns that we can address with MicroLaserPeel®:

  • Mild wrinkles
  • Scars
  • Keratosis
  • Sun damage (e.g. freckles)
  • Pigment irregularities

The MicroLaserPeel® is also known as the “Weekend Peel” because it usually requires about 3-4 days downtime. In that time you can wear mineral makeup to cover some of the redness without compromising results.

NanoLaserPeel®

Intensity Level: Low to Medium

The NanoLaserPeel® is a lighter, less aggressive version of the MicroLaserPeel® treatment. The NanoLaserPeel® works by removing a super thin top layer of skin, and works to soften the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. It operates on the same principles as a MicroLaserPeel® but works a little more superficially, and comes with less downtime.

After a NanoLaserPeel™ appointment, you can expect to notice an improvement in both skin texture and tightness.

We will work with your during your consultation to see if you are a candidate for a NanoLaserPeel®, or if your skin requires a deeper treatment like the MicroLaserPeel®. The NanoLaserPeel® can address the same concerns as the MicroLaserPeel®, helping with mild wrinkles, scars, keratosis, freckles and pigment irregularities.

This treatment is perfect for:

Skin that’s showing signs of wrinkles and hyperpigmentation due to sun damage, skin that’s showing fine lines and wrinkles, acne scars and marks.

Halo®

Intensity Level: Medium to High

Halo® is a hybrid fractional laser, that uses two different methods to get you the type of skin that emits that soft filtered glow. With little or no downtime, you can start to see ‘that Halo glow’ almost immediately.

People who have had the Halo® treatment continue to see results over time, in addition to the immediate step change in their skin.

We will work with you to help you understand how many treatments are right for you, but even in just one treatment you will experience very noticeable (and satisfying) results.

Concerns that we can address with Halo®:

  • Enlarged pores
  • Fine lines
  • Certain types of scars, such as those caused by acne
  • Wrinkles
  • Hyperpigmentation
  • Uneven skin tone

This treatment is perfect for:

Skin that’s showing signs of wrinkles and hyperpigmentation due to sun damage, skin that’s showing fine lines and wrinkles, acne scars and marks.

Light Treatments

BBL (Broad Band Light) & Photo Facials

Setting a high standard in treating skin that has been affected by sun damage, aging and the elements, BBL (broad band light) and photofacials can dramatically improve the appearance of skin affected by acne marks and pigmented lesions (like freckles and age spots.)

The procedure is gentle, noninvasive, and safe for people with light, untanned skin and leaves you with clearer, healthy-looking skin.

How it works:

BBL uses broad-spectrum light that’s absorbed by brown pigment in skin and the hemoglobin in blood vessels that cause redness.

As the skin absorbs the heat and energy from the light, the pigmented cells are destroyed, new cells are generated, and the superficial blood vessels in the treated area are closed off.

The particles of any remaining brown pigment tend to peel or slough off within 7 to 14 days. Depending on skin type, some patients see the equivalent of a reddish ‘sunburn’ on their face for a few days after treatment, which eventually subsides, letting healthy, clearer skin emerge.

The light’s energy and heat also boost collagen production.

It’s imperitive that you find a skilled practioner to perform this procedure, because and inexperienced practioner can scar or damage your skin. Our practice prides itself on being physician-led, taking into account multiple factors before recommending or performing any treatments on our patients.

SkinTyte

When those ‘anti-aging’ creams just aren’t cutting it anymore (but you are nowhere near considering a surgical treatment) skin tightening may be just what you need to lift that skin in a quick and virtually painless in-office session. A SkinTyte treatment is a comfortable and effective way to firm, tighten, and ‘lift’ your skin.

Using light pulses to heat the skin and encouraging it to create new collagen, SkinTyte works over time to create a more taut and lifted look to areas of your skin that are succumbing to those pesky gravitational forces. Ideally performed over a series of treatments, SkinTyte delivers noticeable results over several weeks.

Along with Laser Genesis, SkinTyte is one of our ‘no downtime’ treatments that we love for fast, safe and effective treatments tailored for all skin types. You can go about your day immediately after the treatment!

This treatment is perfect for:

BBL is perfect for untanned skin that’s affected by pigmented lesions (i.e. freckles), and can help treat certain types of acne scarring.

SkinTyte is perfect for skin that’s showing signs of laxity and sagging.

FAQs

What is the downtime for each laser?

The deeper and more ablative the laser, the more downtime you can expect.

Halo®: Patients have reported redness and skin sloughing for 3-4 days, and you usually see the full results (but now with a ‘Halo glow’!) in about 7 days.

MicroLaserPeel® aka ‘the weekend peel’– usually needs 3-4 days of downtime, and patients report feeling comfortable returning to work after 4 days. The MicroLaserPeel® usually goes about 10-50+ microns deep– and the deeper the treatment, the longer the downtime for most patients.

NanoLaserPeel®, a slightly less deep version of the MicroLaserPeel® has patients reporting 1-3 days of social downtime. The peel is about 4-10 microns deep, and the deeper the treatment, the longer the downtime for most patients.  The deeper the treatment the longer the downtime.

Both SkinTyte® and Laser Genesis have no downtime.

After your treatment, you will want to make sure you are using the highest level of SPF possible on the treated areas. The practice will work with you to ensure you have all the information you need on post laser skin care and maintenance.
