What it is
Microneedling is the all-in-one beauty solution to improve acne scars, stretch marks, wrinkles, and can take years off your body and face. Each treatment is tailored to individual skin goals, making this one the most effective treatments for the aesthetic improvement of your skin, on almost any part of your body. Results appear after the first treatment, and the full effects are realized at the end of the series.

The perfect entry-level microneedling option: SkinPen®
Safe for all skin tones, SkinPen® treats acne scars, melasma, stretch marks and more by creating ‘micro-punctures’ in the skin (it sounds worse than it feels!) These little ‘injuries’ to your skin stimulate collagen production and help your skin heal itself. The improvements in your skin are best seen over time, since the SkinPen® activates your body’s own healing process. We do recommend more than one treatment, however, people have seen skin-changing results in as little as two sessions.
Patients often choose microneedling because it is “friendlier” than alternatives such as chemical peels, microdermabrasion, and various laser-assisted techniques.

Morpheus8® pairs microneedling with RF energy for a minimally invasive treatment that helps promote your body’s natural healing response to promote collagen production and elasticity, helping to firm and remodel your skin. We love this treatment for all skin types, and it’s especially safe for olive and richer skin tones.
For melasma, stretch marks and surgical scars, we often explore the option of SkinPen®— which boasts little to no downtime. Like Morpheus8, SkinPen is wonderful on almost all skin tones.
AquaGold® Fine Touch has needles that are coated in 24k gold and almost as fine as human hair, making it one of the least painful microneedling (or microchanneling) experiences. With its hollow needles, the customized serums are ‘stamped’ into your face. AquaGold Fine Touch is fully customizable and can be used on your face, neck and chest.
One of our favorite treatments with AquaGold includes our ‘micro-botox’ treatment, that micro-infuses skin plumping benefits with AquaGold’s 24 carat gold needles.

FAQs
Is there any downtime with microneedling and microchanneling devices?
There’s very little downtime, but each person’s skin reacts differently. With microneedling, a bunch of tiny needles puncture the very first layer of skin. This process works to rejuvenate your skin by boosting collagen production, which in turn reduces the appearance of wrinkles, fine lines, and elevates the overall texture of your skin. However, because your skin is being punctured in order to let the customized serums penetrate your skin, you might experience some redness as the skin ‘heals’ (but the results are worth it!)
AquaGold® has the finest needles and boats the least amount of downtime, but the way your skin reacts will depend on multiple factors that are unique to you. On average, patients report 30 minutes to a day of redness after this treatment.
On average, expect redness and some itching while your skin ‘heals’ itself for 2-3 days.
The procedure is not recommended for people with active acne or people taking certain acne medications.
Is microneedling with with the med spa the same as the roller I use at home?
Not even close. In fact, pardon our bias, but we do not recommend pairing this treatment with at-home derma rolling. Our treatments are clean and medical-grade. When you have a treatment performed at a physician-led practice, you only need to have this treatment performed a few times a year to see happy results with your skin (so you can cut out one step from that multi-step nightly routine!)
A more stern warning: refrain from using any at-home microneedling devices. It’s very easy to misuse them and end up damaging your skin’s texture.
